The Sweden native and former NHL first round draft pick played for the Edmonton Oilers, New work Islanders and Vancouver Canucks amidst his nearly 400-game NHL career. He also had the honour to represent his country twice at the World Junior Hockey Championships and at the Nagano Olympic Games. Since retiring from playing hockey, Lindgren has coached professionally in the Swedish Hockey League for seven seasons and has been a sought-after skill development coach with Lindgren Elite Hockey since 2015. Mats (LEH) has created a development model where he has integrated the Swedish philosophy with the Canadien philosophy to build and develop players from Atom all the way through to Junior A and Pro level. LEH believes in building an immaculate platform focusing on players edges, skating and stick-handling … Instant feedback and corrections is huge and is utilized no matter the age or skill level. Working and perfecting puck & head placement, deception, positional skills and game specific drills that directly transfer to real game situations is crucial. All these components are all part of the LEH progression model and are definitely a necessity in todays hockey.
